Fiamma, located in the heart of Bentonville at the southwest corner of the historic downtown square, is a unique restaurant that pays homage to the late-1800’s bank that it resides in. The project repurposes the original vaults as wine rooms and private dining spaces and leaves existing brick surfaces exposed. The character of the historic building is preserved while incorporating modern materiality and aesthetics. The material pallet of cherry, steel, and onyx panels create an energetic harmony of new materials layered on top of the original brick surface. Playful forms become displays, back-lit bars, wine racks, and a front desk. The resulting interior is full of light, energy, and great food.
